Ring Road

Tuners are individuals who follow Ring Road, a support road that consists of fixing and synchronizing Air Treks with their respective riders. They create the ultimate configuration between a rider and their equipment by listening to the “rhythm” of the body and ATs, subsequently synchronizing them to the optimal levels by adjusting parts and values inside of the ATs.

Personality

Soft spoken, happy girl. She prefers to express how she feels through actions over words, and is thus incredibly touchy-feely. Once she gets to know and feel comfortable around you, prepare to surrender your personal space.

Despite her demure nature, she gets angry fairly easily and has a bad habit of kicking things, so hide yo shins.

Determined and stubborn. Once she sets out to do something, she'll keep trying until it gets through. And if it still doesn't work, she'll kick it enough times to make it work.

History

She was born lucky. Her family was completely normal; businessman dad, housewife mom. Her father earned enough for their family to live comfortably and occasionally splurge to go on holidays.

Being an only child, Yuri's parents had shown her a lot of love and affection, giving her as much as they could and demanding the same respect of her at the same time, something she was only too happy to give. Her mother was first to discover Yuri's sharp ear for music and sound when she'd started to imitate sounds people wouldn't normally notice, and cartoon characters.

Then luck turned its back for a second. A man thought it would be hilarious to hijack a plane and stab the pilot to death on the flight her family was on board. Needless to say, it didn't end well for the pilot. The plane touched down safely, however, the suspect was arrested, the pilot was mourned, and Yuri would swear to never ride another one of those screaming metal death traps for as long as she lived.

After being involved in a plane-jacking at the age of 7, she became acrophobic. It's not severe to the extent of crippling her when in tall buildings, but the thought of soaring through the air on nothing but little turbines strapped to your feet scares the crap out of her. Yet at the same time, she yearns to experience the fantastic wind and boundless sky her storm rider classmates talk about all the time.

She was envious of the fact that there were people who could fly in the sky, like birds amongst birds. She wanted to do it too, just to see what it was like, flying. Being free. Still, childhood trauma wouldn't heal that easy. Hell, she couldn't go up the transparent Tokyo tower in the lift without turning into a gross, sobbing mess. Even so, she was determined to find a way to fly without actually having to.

She constantly sat in on Storm Rider meets, even though she had no wings on her own, just to ask around, and watch them fly. Some riders don't take kindly to those without wings bothering them. Others simply enjoy harassing the weak and flightless, and that was what happened one fateful night. A particularly rowdy team was at the Rider meet she frequented, and she made the mistake of bothering them. Instead of flipping the bird and asking her to piss off as most riders who didn't feel like talking did, they took it upon themselves to verify the exact reason why she couldn't fly by grabbing her and taking to the sky.

Oh yeah, she cried, a lot. She turned into a mess in two seconds flat, and they still didn't put her down. Until someone came and kicked their asses, but she didn't see who, too busy being a distraught damsel in distress and trying not to pass out. She did anyway.

After coming to, she found out it was a King, and his lady Tuner had stayed to make sure she was safe. Long story short, Yuri bothered her too. Begged even, until she taught her enough about the AT world for Yuri to step into it on her own. When she finally did, they disappeared.

Since then, she'd been tinkering with her friends' ATs superficially. She knew them well enough to match certain rhythms, but not intimately enough to become a full tuner for anyone as of yet. Unable to personally ride up into the sky on ATs, she resorts to tuning riders in order to feel the sky through the wind in their hearts.

- She's really small, so she wears heels and puts things in her heels. All of those things combined gives her a height of 5'5.
